In response to Assembly Bill (AB) 617 (C. Garcia, Chapter 136, Statutes of 2017), CARB established the Community Air Protection Program (CAPP or Program). The Program’s focus is to reduce exposure in communities most impacted by air pollution. Communities around the State are working together to develop and implement new strategies to measure air pollution and reduce health impacts.

EXTENDED! Apply by January 24, 2025, to Serve on the AB 617 Consultation Group

CARB is seeking applicants to serve on the Community Air Protection (Assembly Bill (AB) 617) Consultation Group (Consultation Group). The purpose of the Consultation Group is to advise CARB on the development and implementation of the statewide strategy Blueprint 2.0, for the Community Air Protection Program (Program)

Applications must be submitted through the application link no later than 11:59 p.m., Pacific Standard Time (PST), Friday, January 24, 2025. Applicants are encouraged to review the Consultation Group Draft Charter. Learn more about the work the Calexico, El Centro, and Heber community is doing with the Imperial County Air Pollution Control District to co-develop strategies and actions to reduce local air pollution, protect public health, and improve quality of life. Through the creation of a Community Steering Committee, community members collaborate to prioritize actions as part of the Community Air Protection Program (AB 617).
