AAJD Transport, Inc. Settles For $2,500
In August 2020, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) settled a case with AAJD Transport, Inc., located in San Jacinto, California. CARB’s audit documented five violations of the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP) by AAJD Transport, Inc. for failure to test, measure, record, and maintain records of smoke emissions for heavy‑duty diesel vehicles for the years 2018 and 2019.
AAJD Transport, Inc. entered into a settlement agreement with CARB and agreed to pay five PSIP violations of $500.00 each for a total penalty amount of $2,500.00. AAJD Transport, Inc. was cooperative with submitting documentation during the course of the audit and provided records of PSIP tests conducted on their fleet for 2020. AAJD Transport, Inc. agreed to have their staff enroll in California Council on Diesel Education Technology’s (CCDET) CCDET I Smoke Test Training course or the CARB Online Smoke Test Training course. They also agreed to provide records of PSIP tests for their fleet in 2021, to continue PSIP testing and recordkeeping annually thereafter, and to comply with all of CARB’s regulations. The fleet is now in compliance with the PSIP regulation.
