Tentative – California Climate Investments Public Workshop: On May 8 via remote access, CARB will host a public workshop to discuss potential updates to the “Funding Guidelines for Agencies that Administer California Climate Investments.” These guidelines help agencies that administer these investments in program design and implementation. The public will have an opportunity to provide input.
Second Public Meeting for Zero-Emission Public School Bus and Infrastructure Incentives: On May 9 via remote access, CARB and the California Energy Commission (CEC) will host a public workgroup meeting to discuss implementing incentives for zero-emission public school buses and supporting infrastructure. The Fiscal Year 2022-23 State budget included $150 million toward zero-emission school bus and associated infrastructure incentives – $135 million will be administered through CARB’s Clean Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project, and $15 million through CEC’s Energy Infrastructure Incentives for Zero-Emission Commercial Vehicles Project. Staff will provide updates on the previous year’s fund implementation. Also, to be discussed are changes to the school bus incentive program.
Clean Transportation Equity Incentives Lessons Learned Symposium: On May 10 in Oakland and via remote access, CARB will host a public workshop to discuss lessons learned around clean transportation equity incentives.
Public Workshop on Zero-Emission Appliances: On May 10 via remote access, CARB will host a public workshop to discuss plans for developing zero-emission standards for new space and water heaters. This will be the first of a series of workshops and meetings CARB will host on the topic of zero-emission appliance standards. These standards will aim to reduce greenhouse-gas and smog-forming nitrogen oxide emissions from new space and water heaters in order to achieve California’s climate goals and federal air quality standards. Staff will discuss the reasons for zero-emission appliance standards and consider public comments.
