Daikin North America LLC Settles For $5,365

In October 2021, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) settled a case with Daikin North America LLC of Waller, Texas, for violations of CARB’s air quality regulations. The full settlement amount of $5,365 will be deposited into CARB’s Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality.

CARB investigated a complaint and found that the company sold uncertified indoor air cleaning devices in California, in violation of the Regulation for Limiting Ozone Emissions from Indoor Air Cleaning Devices, California Code of Regulations (CCR), title 17, section 94800, et seq. To come into compliance, the company ceased sales of the uncertified indoor air cleaners in California.
