Lornamead Inc. Settles For $3,000
In October, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) reached a settlement with Lornamead Inc. (Lornamead), with its principal location in New York, New York, for the company’s violation of CARB’s air quality regulations.
An investigation conducted by CARB staff found that Lornamead sold, in California, a consumer product that did not meet regulatory standards specified in California Code of Regulations, title 17, section 94512(c)(1). To settle the case, Lornamead agreed to a total penalty of $3,000 for selling a consumer product that had no date code explanation filed with CARB.
The $3,000 will be deposited into CARB’s Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality. Lornamead fully cooperated with CARB to resolve this matter. To come into compliance, Lornamead has submitted a date code explanation for this product that is in accordance with California’s air quality regulations and is no longer using a manufacturer that used a noncompliant date code for production of this product.
