Rolling Green Inc. Settles for $9,800
In January 2023, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) reached a settlement with Rolling Green Inc. for the company’s violation of CARB’s air quality regulations.
An investigation by CARB showed that Rolling Green Inc. (1) failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks, as required by the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP); and (2) had defective emission control components for its fleet of heavy-duty vehicles that did not meet the requirements of the Heavy-Duty Vehicle Inspection Program (HDVIP) Regulation. CARB documented violations as they related to the PSIP, as codified in California Code of Regulations, title 13, sections 2190, et seq., and the HDVIP Regulation, under California Code of Regulations, title 13, sections 2183-2189.
Terms of the settlement include a requirement that the company's fleet maintenance management attend a smoke-test training course, submit PSIP tests for the entire applicable fleet for calendar years 2022 and 2023, and comply with the Truck and Bus Regulation, HDVIP Regulation, PSIP Regulation, and other CARB regulations going forward. Rolling Green Inc. fully cooperated with CARB to resolve this matter. The full settlement amount of $9,800 will be deposited into CARB’s Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality.
