WPP Acquisition, LLC, dba Westminster Pet Products, Settles For $11,200

In March 2023, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) reached a settlement with WPP Acquisition, LLC dba Westminster Pet Products (WPP) with its principal location in Cumberland, Rhode Island for the company’s violations of CARB’s air quality regulations.

CARB staff conducted an investigation that revealed WPP sold, supplied, offered for sale and/or manufactured footwear or leather care products for use in California containing concentrations of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that exceeded the standards specified in California Code of Regulations, title 17, section 94509(a). WPP also failed to meet the date of manufacture requirements as stated in California Code of Regulations, title 17, section 94512(b).

The penalty amount of $11,200 will be deposited into CARB’s Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality. WPP fully cooperated with CARB to resolve this matter and ceased its sale of noncompliant products in California.
