With the Community Air Protection Program (CAPP), we provide help and bring together many communities throughout California that have a heavier air pollution burden than others. We’ve collaborated with six regional air management districts and local Community Steering Committees (CSCs) to create Community Emission Reduction Plans (CERPs) and Community Air Monitoring Programs (CAMPs).
Blueprint 2.0
Approved in October 2023, the Blueprint 2.0 is CARB’s new strategy to combat air pollution and reduce harmful emissions in CAPP selected communities.

Annual Reporting and Progress Tracking
Each year CARB produces an annual report summarizing the results and actions of each selected community’s CERP. Each report is created by CARB staff in close collaboration with each of the air districts and then presented to the CARB Board.

ArcGIS Storymaps
Starting this year, we have worked to create storymaps to tell the narrative of each community within our program. This project was made by CARB staff with the close guidance of air management districts to highlight the important milestones and impacts of the CAPP in each community.

AB 617 Consultation Group
In January 2018 CARB created the multi-stakeholder AB 617 Consultation Group as a requirement in AB 617.
